UB40, one of reggae’s most successful acts, returned to New Zealand to celebrate their 40th anniversary and to perform all their hits at shows across the country. Closed Loop partnered with Trademark Live to provide sustainable waste management services for their Napier and Queenstown gigs.

Our impact:

waste produced
waste streams
avg. diversion rate

2 locations with great results

The live event across Napier and Queenstown were managed differently due to the access to local recycling facilities and options.

In Napier, there were 10 waste streams including the use of reusable Globelets for all wine served throughout the concert, in turn this allowed for a slightly higher repurposing rate. The innovative use of reusable at a closed loop concert contributed to the lower volume of waste, and the increased diversion rate, when compared to Queenstown. These reusable cups were collected and washed, ready to be used at the next event.
